Dear Local Section Leaders,

As we prepare for the ACS Fall 2024 Meeting in Denver, I want to make sure you are aware of some events where you can engage with other local sections and LSAC.

Please plan to attend the ACS Local Section Showcase at Sci-Mix, on Monday, August 19, from 8:00 to 10:00 pm Mountain Time. This event is the perfect opportunity for Local Sections from District V to present their unique programming and demonstrate the value of being involved with ACS through local sections. In addition to District V local sections, the Committee on Local Section Activities (LSAC) will participate in this event to promote our mission of providing opportunities, resources, and networks to partner with and serve our diverse member communities.

Additionally, I would like to encourage you to join this month's webinar on LSAC Grants and Awards taking place on July 17 at 1:00 PM Eastern Time. This event will provide an overview of the Local Section Member Engagement (LS-MEET) grant, Local Section Innovative (LS-IPG) grant, Local Section Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Respect (DEIR) grant, and the Science Café Mini Grant.
