Title: Chemistry of the Beehive
Abstract: If one were to sample the air in a hive of honeybees what would you find? Well, some things you would expect to find: waxes, pheromones, and other bee chemicals. However, it is the unexpected that makes research fun. Come find out what Dr. Schmidt found when he inserted a solid phase microextraction fiber (SPME) into his honeybee hives.
