Wow, that was a sobering example of what can happen to an issue in a relative short period of time.
There is no question that the viral nature of communications accross different web channels (the web, email, social networking software, etc) has fundamentally changed the nature of how and at what speed organizations are affected by the release of information. At times this information can result in tremendous disruption - in this case to how products use or do not use BPA.
So the reaction is viral and fast and the resolution will take years and likely evolve over time.
It will be interesting to follow this to it's conclusion and see if all the angst in this case is justified or not.
