U.S. Employment of Chemists Presidential Task Force
The Task Force shall look broadly at the issues related to employment of chemistry professionals within the U.S. In addition to aggregate data, the Task Force shall also examine the plight of demographic subgroups, people at different education and experience levels, and different sectors of employment. Examination of employment challenges in the U.S. should reflect all chemical professionals, not just ACS members.
Recommendations and insights gained by the Task Force shall be submitted to appropriate governance entities as they become available. The Task Force should not wait until a formal report has been issued to act.
The Task Force shall provide a written report to the President and Board of Directors of the ACS summarizing all findings, recommendations, and actions. The report shall ultimately be disseminated more broadly, in some form, to industry, government agencies, foundations, and universities.
