The United States Senate passed a resolution designating the week beginning on October 19, 2014 as National Chemistry Week. The resolution was sponsored by Senators Chris Coons (D-Delaware) and Pat Toomey (R-Rhode Island).

ACS received a letter  from President Barack Obama thanking “the professionals and volunteers who are opening eyes, sparking imaginations and cultivating tomorrow’s leaders in chemistry,” and wishing our students “the very best as they push themselves to think big and reach even higher.”
