Worked on development of integrated Hot-cell glovebox test equipment for remote analysis of high-level radioactive waste. Experiences include multi-disciplinary task coordination and management of analytical subcontracts. Understanding of health and safety issues relating to chemical, radiation, and biological hazards. Post-doctoral training in environmental / molecular toxicology (chemical and radiation carcinogenesis) and subsequent work experiences - hands-on knowledge. Worked as Chemistry Technology manager and supervised professionals (mix of PhDs, MSs, and BSs). Community involvement for public awareness in understanding health hazards and issues associated with hazardous chemicals, toxins, and radiation. Served as Quality Assurance coordinator and Chemical Hygiene Officer. Worked in academics teaching chemistry to students at all levels (high school, undergrad and grad). Developed language program (Hindi) as part of undergraduate curriculum at State University of New York, SUNY at Buffalo. Professional networking and technical information exchange - worked with various organizations (like National Environmental Monitoring Conference, NEMC - worked on program committee with Dr. Larry Keith in 2004; co-hosted the DOE Analytical Managers meeting at West Valley in 1998; DOE panel discussion on chemical hazard risk assessment ; co-chaired a session at 2008 ACS National meeting; co-organized a sensor technology workshop on nuclear waste; and worked on Committee for Eastern Washington Academy of Certified Hazardous Materials Managers, IHMM.
