The development and application of advanced in vivo MR imaging techniques to study disease in general. MRI and MRS are non-invasive techniques and can be used to identify biomarkers for disease. This information could potentially be used to test novel drug treatments. Research at the National Research Council Institute for Biodiagnostics (NRC-IBD) focuses on the development and commercialization of innovative medical devices and technologies for the non-invasive diagnosis of diseases in humans and animals. NRC-IBD research is based on various imaging and spectroscopic modalities, prototyping, biomedical informatics, and medical software.
