Combining Potassium Citrate and Acetic Acid?

As part of my diet I am taking 30mL Apple Cider Vinegar diluted in water several times per day as well as a Potassium Citrate supplement. I decided to combine the two and add the Potassium Citrate crystals to my drink.

Upon adding it to my diluted vinegar drink I immediately noticed that the acetic acid was neutralized. Concerned about what reaction took place and not knowing the products I did not continue to drink the solution.

The products I am using are:

  • Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar with mother. (5% acetic acid)
  • microingredients Pure Potassium Citrate. (99mg potassium per 275mg scoop)

My goal is to be able to consume both but I would like to know the following first:

  • How much pure Potassium Citrate I can add to a solution of 30mL of 5% Acetic Acid and 444mL of water and keep the solution under a pH of 6.4?
  • Ultimately what will I be drinking? What are the reaction products? (K3C6H5O7 -> CH3COOH + H2O)

Re: Combining Potassium Citrate and Acetic Acid?

Did you ever find the answer to this re combining potassium and acetic acid?  I had the exact same question and just discovered yours here online.  In fact I just drank some.  Lately I've also been adding magnesium citrate, and spices.
