I have a question regarding tire rubber and oil based paint. I work for a trucking company and one of our main expenses is tires. A method we use to identify our tires is by painting the sides with oil-based gloss protective enamel paint, but the thing is we started noticing that the paint sort of "eats away" at the sidewall of the tire over a matter of weeks. My questions are why does this reaction happen with the oil-based paint and the tire and what types of paint can I use to put on my tires.
Also worth mentioning is that the paint contains xylene and acetone.
Thanks in advance.
