White Flames

Chatting with my 7 yo about the different colors of fire.  He wanted to know if white flames are the hottest?  I think that answer is basically yes but correct me if that's untrue.  However, I'd like to know more about how white flames are produced.   I know that excited electrons produce specific colored photons so how do epson salts produce white flames?  Is the white color are amalgamation of different colored photons?

I am not a scientist or chemist!

But thought I'd pass this along for what it's worth.
It seems to be a reputable site

Re: White Flames

I had a question answered yesterday that I asked last month.
When scrolling through the questions I see most questions posted in the last 6 months have no answers
