Central New Mexico Local Section

The Central New Mexico Local Section of the American Chemical Society was founded in 1946 and generally serves the central northern 2/3rds of the state of New Mexico. The Local Section specifically includes the following New Mexico counties: Bernalillo, Los Alamos, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Sandoval, Santa Fe, Socorro, Taos, Torrance, and Valencia. Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory are located in our Section, as well as multiple universities, including the University of New Mexico, New Mexico Tech, and New Mexico Highlands University. There are ACS Student Member Chapters at each of those three institutions. Our Local Section has a little over seven hundred members.
