What Does Fluorine Chemistry Service Do?

Background: fluorine compounds have had a profound impact on the development of bioactive for the modern pharmaceuticals market. It is estimated that up to 20% of pharmaceuticals prescribed or administered in the clinic contain a fluorine atom and 30% of the leading 30 blockbuster drugs by sales contain a fluorine.

Generally, fluorine chemistry service in the lab is about:

  • Synthesis of fluorinated compound using fluorinating agents, fluorinated building block, and in-situ generated HF
  • Teflon-coated 150-litter-vessel, with operating temperature from -100 to +70 Centigrade
  • Special equipment to handle F2, SF4, and HF
  • Design and Synthesis of F-templates/scaffolds and fluorinated reagents
  • New fluorination methodology and reagents
  • Halogenation (fluorination, chlorination, bromination, iodination)
  • Reactions using anhydrous fluoride (HF), fluorine gas (F2), tetrafluoroethylene (TFE), chlorotrifluoroethylene, (CTFE) and iodine pentafluoride (IF5), etc., are also possible
