How Glass Changed the World
On October 27, 2016, Professor Seth Rasmussen from North Dakota State University presented his seminar on the history glass. Starting form the earliest accounts of its production, Professor Rasmussen traced its usage through the Roman Empire to the technical advancements in Venice. He further made the case that the development of Venetian glass allowed for the distillation of the first organic solvent and mineral acids. The seminar was well received with over 120 people in attendance.
