The Cafe was held featuring the NCW theme for 2010, "Behind the Scenes with Chemistry. Theatrical designers are given the task of collaboratively creating an overall “look” for the stage environment that complements the desired text. In lighting design we use a vast tool kit that includes items like lighting fixtures, accessories, lamps, reflectors, dichorics, color media and atmospherics (haze, fog, dry ice) to create exciting and ever changing environments and special effects. Understanding the mathematical, physical and chemical properties of these various items is imperative in creating the most successful and unique stage environment possible.
